help from the 2 year old!

So my husband has been doing better on his TV watching, although he is definitely not all on board! Our two year old has been trying to his part without even knowing it!! Two nights ago when Mark got home from work, we had dinner and were just hanging out.  He mumbled something about the TV being unplugged which totally annoyed him, so he climbed behind the TV got himself all set up and sat down to watch TV.  He informed me he needed to relax, so I was just accepting this to keep peace in my house.  He actually had the remote pointed at the TV to turn it on when we both hear from the back bedroom "Daddy will you read me a book?" and then our two year toddles out into the living room, holding his Thomas the Train book with the biggest smile on his face.  Needless to say the TV did not get watched that night! Thanks for the help little guy!! - mird

  1. Awww! This is perfect...of course you know that it takes 1,000 read alouds in a child's early years before they will be ready to read...that is a lot of read alouds but just think of what you are doing to ensure success in school in a few years! Books rule, TV drools!
